Day before
- Backup all your devices => Cloud + Local when possible
- Charge all your devices & accessories
- Electronic check-in: hotel, flight
- Tip about online boarding: If you have luggages to drop off, airport staff can print physical boarding passes
- Add as much stuff to Wallet as possible
- Flight tickets

- Download as much multimedia content as possible
- Music, Podcasts, Audiobooks

- Download all the necessary apps

- Tip for Google Maps: Possible to download data over Wi-Fi for defined region
- Download a local copy of the most important files on your iPhone/iPad
- Avoid iCloud Drive unless Keynote or Pages or Numbers
- Check the weather at your destination: AccuWeather
Travel day
- Turn off devices that you won’t use
- On main iPhone
- Turn off Cellular Data usage for most apps, including Photos
- Turn off “Roaming” if needed
- Make screenshot of data usage
- Reset data usage statistics
- 1Password travel mode
- Some vaults can be temporarily deactivated
- Only for 1Password subscriptions
- Turn off biometric authentication to unlock the iPhone
- Emergency SOS
- Settings > Face ID & Code > Unlock
- Worst case: Reset to factory settings then only add necessary contacts & e-mail accounts
- Activate VPN when connecting to free Wi-Fi (Airport, Motorway restaurants, Hotels, …)
At destination
- If needed: restore from iCloud backup over Wi-Fi
- If needed: Activate eSim
- Revise app cellular data usage
